Skills Required to Make a Great “Impression” on Our Team

As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), you will work closely with the dentist and clinical team to provide efficient, high-quality patient care. 

Responsibilities include:

*Perform expanded-function dental assisting duties within the scope of applicable state laws and regulations.
*Assist the dentist with restorative, preventive, and other clinical procedures.
*Prepare teeth, instruments, materials, and treatment rooms for procedures.
*Take radiographs, impressions, digital scans, and other diagnostic records as directed.
*Provide authorized preventive services such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
*Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
*Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, sterilization, and safety standards.
*Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment.
*Educate patients regarding treatment procedures and appropriate post-operative care.
*Communicate effectively with the dentist and dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care.
*Maintain dental instruments, equipment, and clinical supplies.
*Maintain all required EFDA credentials, certifications, and continuing education.

The ideal candidate is clinically confident, detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional patient care while working collaboratively with the dental team.

So How Can You “Fill” This Role?

• EFDA Certification required per state requirements
• Radiography licensure for respective state requirements
• 1-5 years of experience preferred
• CPR Certification is required
• Proficient in MS Office Suite
• Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary
