  • Overview

    The IT Security Administrator is responsible for performing the auditing, evaluating, and maintaining of the IT infrastructure to ensure all computer systems meet the company’s objectives from an IT security perspective.  The IT Security Administrator assists to confirm the company’s network, servers, and data domains remain secure while staying in compliance with all healthcare regulations.  They will work with the team members to provide security training to promote a culture of IT security.


    Essential Duties

    • Participate in security compliance efforts (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.).
    • Review security events and manage all security-based programs
    • Auditing of the patch change management processes
    • Review vulnerability scans and implement steps to resolve discovered issues
    • Identify security threats, risks and vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation plans
    • Develop, interpret, and enforce security policies and procedures
    • Analyze system and security logs to identify potential security incidents and vulnerabilities
    • Configure and manage security applications
    • Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services
    • Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies
    • Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives and timelines
    • Review, troubleshoot, and manage Data Loss Prevention systems
    • Escalation point for multifactor related issues
    • Review logs for door access via badge management system
    • Review video logs and, if necessary, collect evidence from internal security camera system
    • Manage the continual security training activities to deliver user acceptance
    • Perform any other duties as assigned



    • Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills required
    • At least 2 years of experience as an IT Security Administrator or similar role preferred
    • Experience with log monitoring and analysis
    • Experience with MDM device management preferred
    • Experience with vulnerability assessment tools, such as Nessus or similar tool preferred
    • Ability to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both written and verbal

    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (SKAs)

    • Very knowledgeable in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
    • Good communication skills
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with all team members and leadership teams to meet goals set by all parties
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task



    • Two-year associates or higher degree in Management Information Systems, or similar discipline preferred 


    • Sitting for long periods of time, completing tasks using a computer and other office equipment
    • Position requires frequent talking, hearing, and vision with moderate standing, walking and reaching
    • May require lifting up to 30 lbs
    • Job position responsibilities are generally performed in a business office environment with computers, printers and phones
